Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
1. What we collect
- Account info: name, email, optional phone / WhatsApp number, hashed password.
- Plan data: the answers you give to our intake survey, the chat conversation, and any items you confirm to your plan.
- Anonymous session: an HTTP-only cookie (
anon_sid) so we can keep your in-progress plan even before sign-up. - Operational logs: standard web-server access logs.
2. Why we collect it
- To build your plan and let you come back to it later.
- So a human advisor can reach out about your plan.
- To improve the AI suggestions based on what works.
3. Who we share it with
We share data with the third-party service providers that operate our infrastructure (database hosting, AI inference). We do not sell your data. We may disclose information if required by law.
4. How long we keep it
Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. Anonymous sessions expire 90 days after they were last used. You can request deletion at any time.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) you have rights to access, correct, export, and delete your data. Email privacy@theoverseas.com and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies
We use a strict-necessary cookie (anon_sid) and a session cookie for authentication. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
